Enyobeni Tavern inquest | Underage drinking an issue among EC youth

EAST LONDON – It has been an emotionally draining week for witnesses and families of those who had to relive the moment when 21 young people died in Enyobeni Tavern in the Eastern Cape. 
Their testimonies brought back memories after a night of celebration turned to tragedy. Many youths died on 26 June 2022.

And despite awareness programmes by the Eastern Cape Liquor Board to address the issue of underage drinking, it’s still prevalent.
