    Description

    This is an original brassard from the Spanish-American War period.
    It is for a saddler in the Cavalry.
    Saddlers were one of the most important members of any Cavalry unit, since they took care of all of the horses' leather and other tack.
    This brassard has a yellow wool saddler's knife sewn on to white cotton twill.  It measures 4 5/8 inches by 2 1/4 inches.
    It is in unissued condition.  It has some stains since it has not been laundered.
